Protection and Prevention

After about 2 to 4 weeks of adjusting to the new foods and supplements, you should be ready for Step 3, which focuses on protection and prevention.  The goal here is to prevent free-radical damage to our renewed, stronger and healthier cells.  These are the antioxidants that help maintain a stronger, healthier immune system for lasting improved health and longevity.  These antioxidants are CarotoMax, Vitamin C, and Vitamin E.

CarotoMax:  1 capsule a day

Vitamin C 500 milligrams:  1 tablet, 2 times a day

Vitamin E:  2 capsules a day

These amounts can be adjusted according to your risk factors and increased need for prevention of certain diseases, such as cancer, heart disease, or stroke.

So, there you have it, a complete step-by-step plan for wellness!  Most people begin feeling better after the first week of cleansing, if the instructions are strictly followed.  Stay consistent and positive!  If you are inconsistent in following the process, take inadequate supplements, and/or have a negative attitude your results will not be as good.

If you get frustrated or discouraged, reevaluate your goals and purpose.  Be honest and truthful with yourself for your health’s sake.  Ask yourself these questions:

1.  Am I really serious about getting well?

2.  Am I ready to get well?  Am I ready and willing to change; to do whatever it takes to get well?

3.  Am I consistent?  Am I following the process according to specified instructions?

4.  Am I allowing others and/or circumstances to sabotage my efforts to reach my goal of wellness?

5.  Do I believe wellness is really possible for me?  Do I understand the process?

6.  Have I requested help and support from others (family, friends, nutrition counselor)?

If you answered NO to any or all of these questions, realize that only you can make wellness possible for you.  You alone are responsible for your own health and your future.  To blame others or seek solutions outside of yourself only leads to more frustration, discouragement, and failure.

The power is within you to be well, happy, and fulfilled!  I have full confidence you can and will achieve success when you decide to.  When you believe you can, you will!

SPECIAL NEEDS

Our nutritional needs are as uniquely different as our age, gender, lifestyle, environment, and attitude.  Every one of us must consider the our own unique nutritional needs.  Nutrition research shows that certain nutrients are important and specific to men or women and to specific age groups at different stages of our lives (for example, calcium for women, children, the elderly, and in pregnancy).  Some are beneficial for very specific health conditions (glucosamine, alfalfa, and vitamin C for arthritis, gingko for mental alertness, saw palmetto for benign prostatic hypertrophy).  This is important and I encourage you to study reliable nutrition information to learn proper use of these special nutrients.  These supplements can be added at any time after Step Two of our Wellness Process.

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When can I expect to see results?

Results vary from person to person according to the severity of the disease or condition, how closely you stay on the diet and follow instructions, how often you “cheat”, and the extent of your everyday stress.

How long do I have to stay on the supplements?

For as long as you want to live in optimum wellness.

Do I have to stop taking my medications?

Not necessarily, unless your doctor says there will be drug interactions with your supplements.

How much will it cost?  I cannot afford it!

Focus on benefits versus cost.  Quality nutrients = quality health.

Fridays will be devoted to answering your specific questions, so tomorrow I will answer those.  Next week we will start talking about healthy eating.
