Living With Hemangiomas

I had a question the other day about hemangiomas.

These are soft tissue tumors and they develop in places like your skeletal muscle, fat, tendons, fibrous tissues and nerve and blood vessel tissues.

Soft tissue tumors can occur anywhere in your body but are usually in your lower extremities, trunk and abdomen, and upper extremities.

The cause is unknown.

Benign soft tissue tumors rarely metastasize.

They’re categorized according to their behavior (aggressive, nonaggressive, inactive, active).

Benign tumors may be very large and deep but are usually soft.

A hemangioma is a benign vascular soft tissue tumor in your blood vessels.

It’s the most common soft tissue tumor in children.

It can develop in your top skin layer or deep within your muscle.

They occur more in your lower extremities than your upper extremities.

Hemangiomas can range from being well-defined, noninvasive, involving small vessels to less defined, invasive, involving large vessels.

The most common type of hemangioma is made of both large and small vessels.

An MRI scan is the best type of imaging to show the location and extent of a tumor.

Treatment isn’t needed unless they cause pain.

Aspirin and compression stockings may be quite successful in relieving symptoms.

Although hemangiomas are vascular, they don’t spread to other areas or turn malignant.

To deal with hemangiomas it’s beneficial to:

*Drink 8-10 cups of purified (chlorine-free) water.

*Drink organic pomegranate juice – it reduces blood vessel damage.

*Consume 1/4 cup of organic tomato sauce or 3 medium organic tomatoes per day.

*Hawthorn is an herb that increases blood flow.

*Make sure your diet is well balanced and contains plenty of fiber.

*Eat plenty of raw foods.  For protein, eat broiled fish and skinless turkey and chicken, which are low in fat.

*Include garlic and onions in your diet.

*Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

*Add raw nuts (except peanuts), olive oil, pink salmon, trout, tuna, Atlantic herring, and mackerel to your diet.

*Avoid caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, chocolate, sugar, butter, red meat, fats, fried foods, processed and refined foods, soft drinks, spicy foods, and white flour products like bread.

*Eliminate all known sources of sodium from your diet.  Keep your consumption below 5 grams per day.

*Consider regular liver and/or colon cleanses.

*Review my candida post.

*Maintain optimal weight.  Get regular moderate exercise.

*Ensure regular (minimum 2/day) bowel movements.

*Avoid stress and learn stress-management techniques.

*Eliminate toxic/chemical/environmental exposures as much as possible.

*Eliminate non-organic dairy, meat, poultry, etc.

*Eliminate synthetic hormone use.

*Eliminate food/drinks stored in plastic, aluminum, Styrofoam, etc.

*Eliminate microwaved foods, especially in the above containers.
