Inactivity causes accelerated aging, but regular physical activity reverses it!
Nothing holds as much promise for sustained health as a lifetime program of physical exercise. Regular physical activity positively impacts your health and longevity. It can prevent, as well as reverse, premature or accelerated aging, especially when combined with proper diet and sensible supplementation. Young or old, age is no barrier. Exercise is good for everyone, even if it is just going for a walk.
Every physical activity needs nutritional support for the muscles and body. For endurance, stamina, good hydration, and electrolyte balance, Shaklee’s Performance drink mix is an excellent choice. Shaklee’s Physique is excellent to rebuild and repair muscle tissue. Vita Lea, a comprehensive balanced multivitamin, provides all essential nutrients.
Vitamins C and E protect us from free radicals that can accumulate during exercise. The B complex, with all eight B vitamins in the correct balance, allows energy to be released from food to fuel the muscles and tissues during increased activity. Regular exercise promotes efficient burning of fat, resulting in consistent, steady weight loss, and maintenance of good health.
We Are Stressed
Stress is normal and experienced by everyone. But positive or negative, the effects on the body are the same. Briefly, stress causes our organs to overwork. The heart, brain, muscles, kidneys, and adrenal glands become exhausted. This can result in malfunctioning of organs. Stress increases the body’s need for protein, B vitamins, calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, vitamins C and E, selenium, flavonoids, and carotenoids. During stress, the entire digestive system shuts down. Food digestion, absorption, and metabolism do not work right. When nutrient supplies do not meet the demands created by stress, the immune system weakens, which causes increased susceptibility to infections. Prolonged, chronic stress promotes the development of degenerative conditions, such as high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, stroke, and cancer. Additionally, excess sugar, caffeine, nicotine, and medications increase chemical damage to the body. Due to the multiple problems generated by stress on the entire digestive system, additional nutritional support is desperately needed to regain balance and health.
WHAT ARE WAYS TO HELP US DE-STRESS?
There are many ways we can overcome stress. We can de-stress by balancing the body, mind, and spirit.
· Exercise regularly for 30 minutes at least three times a week.
· Eat for health at all times. Avoid stimulants and anti-nutrients (alcohol, coffee, sugar, tobacco, drugs). These substances weaken your body’s stress coping mechanism.
· Supplement wisely and adequately.
· Think positively. Obstacles are not stumbling blocks; rather they are stepping stones to success.
· Discipline yourself to organize and prioritize every activity according to purpose and importance.
· Massage therapy with or without aroma therapy is helpful in relieving stress.
Consider changing careers or changing your environment.
Other stress relievers include humor and laughter, affirmations, music and dance, meditation, prayers, yoga, Tai Chi, and spiritual cleansing.
