Living With Pulmonary Fibrosis

I had a question the other day about pulmonary fibrosis.

“Fibrosis” means scarring, so pulmonary fibrosis means scarring in your lungs.

Pulmonary fibrosis can be caused by many things, including chronic inflammatory processes, infections, environmental agents, exposure to ionizing radiation, chronic conditions, and certain drugs.

Fibrosis of the lungs can develop after an immune reaction to inhaled organic dusts or occupational chemicals.

This condition usually results from inhaling dust contaminated with bacterial, fungal, or animal products.

Examples would be silo fillers disease and pigeon breeders lung disease.

In most people, chronic pulmonary inflammation and fibrosis develop without an identifiable cause.

Most of these people have a condition called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) that doesn’t respond to medical therapy.

But some of the other types of fibrosis may respond to immune suppressive therapy.

Symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis include shortness of breath, cough, and decreased exercise tolerance.

The severity of symptoms and the worsening of symptoms over time varies and partially depends on the cause of the fibrosis.

The treatment options for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis are very limited.

There’s no evidence any medications can help, because scarring is permanent once it’s developed.

A lung transplant is the only therapy available, but this is usually reserved for advanced disease.

Research trials using different drugs that may reduce fibrous scarring continue.

Because some types of lung fibrosis can respond to corticosteroids or other medications that suppress your body’s immune system, these drugs are sometimes prescribed to try to decrease the processes that lead to fibrosis.

When these fail, lung transplantation may be considered for some people.

To deal with pulmonary fibrosis it’s beneficial to:

*Drink 6-8 cups of purified water daily as it hydrates body and brain cells, thins mucus, and flushes toxins.

*Purify indoor air.

*Increase essential fats (flax oil, omega-3 oils, fish oils).

*Explore use of Oil of Oregano and Mullein oil.

*Consume plenty of fresh garlic and onions.

*Switch to safe, nontoxic cleaners, laundry and personal care products that don’t emit toxic fumes/residues.

*Discover “hidden” allergies/sensitivities (food and/or environmental) that may trigger or aggravate condition.

*Dairy products are very mucus forming.

*Review my post on candida.

*Eliminate smoking, second-hand smoke, environmental pollutants.

*Explore the use of hydrotherapy and/or castor oil or onion packs.

*Consider a vaporizer.

*Avoid sugar as it “turns off” your immune system.

    (PULMONARY FIBROSIS SUCCESSFUL TREATMENT)
I’m from MaryLand USA, I was diagnosed with Pulmonary fibrosis in Feb 2011. I may have had it for 1 or 2 years prior to that. It started with a dry cough and mild temperature, shortness of breath and fatigue. A CT scan confirmed it and I was placed on prednisone (7.5 mg), azathioprine and N-Acetyl. As the disease progressed all medication stopped working, i was introduced to NewLife herbal clinic in South Africa who have successful herbal treatment to Pulmonary fibrosis and other lungs diseases. I spoke to few people who used the treatment here in USA and they all gave a positive response, so i immediately purchased the Pulmonary fibrosis herbal remedy and commenced usage, i used the herbal supplement for only 9 weeks, all symptoms gradually faded away, herbs are truly gift from God.
