How Can We Detoxify?

·

This is what I recommend:

-Reduce or eliminate toxins in your diet.  Avoid highly processed foods.  Eat foods as close to nature as possible.  Buy organic foods.

·         –Use environmentally safe cleaning products.

·         –Purify the air in your home and workplace.  Do not smoke.

·         –Drink purified water in large amounts.

·         –Support and protect your liver with helpful supplements (Fiber, DTX, CarotoMax, Soy Protein, Vita-C and Vita-E).

·       –Avoid unnecessary use of drugs or medications.  Consult your doctor before taking OTC drugs or prescription medications.  Read adverse reactions and toxic side effects of drugs.

·        –Lose weight if overweight.  Maintain a desirable weight for height.

·        –Exercise regularly.

We Are Inactive

One of the causes of depression is inactivity.  What effect does inactivity have on our health?  Studies show that inactivity is a major factor in 250,000 deaths in the United States each year.  According to the American Heart Association, inactivity is now an official risk factor for heart disease.  Let’s look at the physiological effects of exercise and physical activity.  First, exercise improves blood circulation, which improves the flow of nutrients, as well as the elimination of waste.  Exercise also improves digestion and absorption of nutrients, which nourishes cells, balances the body’s chemistry, and regulates hormones.  These actions increase the efficiency of all organs and organ systems.  And this then improves our performance and increases our energy, stamina, and endurance.  Of course, exercise improves cardiovascular and pulmonary fitness.

Moderate exercise causes the body to make hormones called beta-endorphins.  These hormones are like morphine and help to relieve stress and pain.  They also stimulate the body’s killer cells’ ability to destroy invaders.  This in turn helps to build a stronger immune system, which is vital to the body’s healing process.  Also, beta-endorphins made by exercise elevate your mood and greatly relieve mental depression.

Other factors that help produce beta-endorphins are:

·          Humor and laughter

·          Positive, affirmations and visualizations

·          Classical music

·          Meditation, prayers, spiritual cleansing (forgiveness and communion)

Obesity and its associated health problems are very visible evidence of the effects of inactivity.  When we are inactive, our metabolic rate goes down and then we gain weight.  Muscle is replaced by fat and our strength declines, which then discourages exercise.  So, we become even less active.  As cholesterol and blood pressure rise, our risk for heat attack and stroke increases.  Inactivity also leads to a thinning of bone called osteoporosis.  The sites affected most often are the spine (degenerated disks), the wrist and arm bones (frequent fractures), and the bone at the hip joint.  Prolonged inactivity also leads to a rise in blood sugar, which increases the risk for developing diabetes.

Join me tomorrow when we talk about getting fit, not fat.

A painful bony bump in the middle of the foot (Hallux Rigidus)
and has bunions and bunionetts on both feet, and feet are always hurting.
She has custom made orthotics but complain that those make feet hurt worst.

Is there anything that would sooth the pain, and make walking less painful.
